Privacy Policy

At 7moku, this policy explains what is stored on your browser, what is shared while you play, and what is saved when you use a saved profile or leaderboard features.

1. What We Save

You can play 7moku without creating an account or saving a profile.

If you save a profile or submit eligible games, we may store:

• Your nickname and avatar.
• Your saved player profile record.
• Linked player keys used to recognize the same profile across browsers.
• Completed game records, moves, results, and stats needed for history and leaderboards.
• Passkey sign-in records needed to recognize your saved profile.

We do not store a 7moku password because 7moku does not use passwords. We do not require or store your email address to save a profile. Saved public profile fields are limited to game identity data such as nickname and avatar.

2. Data on This Browser

7moku saves some information in your browser so the game works between visits. This includes:

• Your chosen nickname and discriminator.
• Your selected avatar.
• Game settings (e.g., sound preferences, connection indicators).
• Your tutorial completion status.
• Your local player identity and signing key.
• Your local game history.

If you do not save a profile, this browser copy is the main copy of your profile. Clearing browser data or resetting your profile can remove it from this device.

3. Public Profile Sharing

Your nickname and avatar are public within 7moku places where other players need to identify you: lobby presence, matchmaking, live matches, spectator views, and leaderboards.

4. Game Records

Signed games can be stored for history, replay, fair-play checks, and leaderboards. Stored records can include moves, result, players, timing, signatures, game type, and ranked status. Local bot Practice and Self-Play games may be saved for history, but they do not count toward ranked leaderboards.

5. Direct Connections

7moku uses direct browser connections for live matches when possible. When you join a match or spectate:

• Your nickname and avatar are visible to the other people in the same room.
• Your IP address may be visible to another player's device as part of the standard WebRTC handshake required for direct connectivity.
• 7moku currently has no chat feature.

6. Analytics

We use Google Analytics for basic website traffic statistics and PostHog for feature usage tracking. This helps us understand which parts of the game are used and where the experience needs work.

You can turn off PostHog feature usage tracking in the "Advanced Settings" menu in the "Profile" page within the game.

7. Your Choices

You can clear your local data at any time by resetting your profile in the game settings or by clearing your browser cache. This removes local profile data and settings from this device. Saved profile, leaderboard, and game-history records are separate from browser data and may remain available for history, replay, leaderboard, and fair-play purposes.

8. Third-Party Links

Our game may contain links to external sites (like Wikipedia or GitHub). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.
